1st Round · Recital Duration: min. 15 - max. 20 minutes
1. One Prelude & Fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier (Book I or II) by Johann Sebastian Bach.
2. Two virtuoso Etudes. To choose one etude by two different composers from the list below:
- Frederic Chopin
- Franz Liszt
- Sergei Rachmaninoff
- Alexander Scriabin
- Claude Debussy
3. One composition by a Maltese Composer from the list below:
- Charles Camilleri – Anatolia; or Xnobis; or Etudes nos. 4 & 5 from Book Three ‘Picasso Set’ and Interlude II from ‘Times of Day’
- Mariella Cassar – Opus I or Oriental Prints
- John Galea – Spirals
- Albert Garzia – Parts from Divergence and Consequence; Minute Miniatures; Rumanz (tribute to Mozart) or Wacky Noisy Thing
- Albert Pace – Tidwir Part I or II
- Reuben Pace – Asteroid Field
- Manoel Pirotta – Carnaval Triste; Deux Mignons; Triptych; Two Maltese Pictures or Victims of Ponte Morandi
- Joseph Vella – Scherzo or minimum one movement from ‘Sonatina’
